I would not use hot glue, the temperature will melt the foam slightly.
This project is already behind schedule and I would love to know how to treat this stuff to maximize it's life. I'm looking for general advice from anyone who has used Durham's Water Putty in this way. Am I able to seal this in the usual method using watered down PVA Spray? I'm noticing that if I flex the boards in any way, the Durham's just cracks and flakes off. To hold down rocks and other points of interest To hold the plastic structures to the MDF bases This is my first time working with Durham's Water Putty and I'm using it in the following capacity: I have coated all of the hills in a relatively thin layer of Durham's Water Putty (applied with a brush) in order to keep the foam from melting if I spray it with a rattle can, and to keep it from chipping easily.Įverything is mounted to 6mm MDF, which is cut into shapes no longer or wider than a foot and a half. The other component is mainly wirecut foam, which I used to mass out hills and mainly treestands (where I will be hot gluing in model train trees after flocking) I have 5 or 6 plastic assembled mantic & GW terrain pieces, these are modularly designed, but fused together with plastic cement & reinforced with hot glue & Gorilla (CA) glue, so they are very sturdy. Hi everyone! I'm working on a large terrain project that is divided into two main components. U/pixelastic's awesome subreddit image parser Be smart!
